Anne Arundel County lies on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. It has a population of 517,299 citizens. The county is home to the U.S. Naval Academy, one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in the nation, St John's College which is the country's third oldest college, as well as the nation's first public school. This county was one of the very first established in our country in 1649 when a handful of Virginia Puritans landed in what was then known as Providence located in the present Anne Arundel County.
