Gilbert, Arizona is a suburb of Phoenix, and is a relatively new community that has experienced large growth over the last twenty years. The population has grown to over 84,000 residents. Gilbert was founded in the 1890's, and was incorporated in 1920.

One of Gilbert's premier attractions is that of its wildlife habitats, which were originally man-made ponds. Gilbert began making the ponds using re-claimed waste water in order to re-charge the ground water supply.
